I’m Rochelle Hamilton, a proud member of the Ehattesaht First Nation with ancestral ties to the Tulalip Tribes of Washington State — the place I walk every day and the place I’m honored to call home. My ancestral roots run deep in this land, grounding me in tradition, identity, and purpose.
As the eldest of seven children, I was shaped by early life experiences that required strength, resilience, and maturity well beyond my years. An emancipated minor and married at 15, I held onto a vision of something greater. I became the first in my family to graduate from college, a milestone that represents not just personal achievement, but a legacy of perseverance and possibility.
These lived experiences have shaped me into a woman with deep empathy, strong roots and a resilient spirit. I carry my story not as a burden, but as a testament to what’s possible when determination meets opportunity.
Speaking of opportunity, ask me sometime how I became the Vice President of my own company. It’s a story worth telling.

My work is deeply rooted in personal experience, community need, and the belief that we deserve better.

Better care, better support, and most importantly, better connection. Suicide has touched the lives of so many of us in Native communities. When I was offered the chance to help build the Native and Strong Lifeline, the first tribal-specific 988 suicide and crisis line within the national 988 system, I knew in my heart this was the work I was meant to do. This is work that is best led by Native people for Native people, because our lived experiences give us a unique understanding and connection. At the same time, I believe that others can learn from us and become effective partners in supporting Native communities through respectful collaboration and openness to learning.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created so far. Thousands of our relatives have reached out to the Native and Strong Lifeline, and they’ve been met with Native clinicians who understand their stories, their grief, their culture, and their healing. That trust, from one relative to another, is sacred. Our proven and continuous dedication to partnership has enabled us to drive meaningful changes in the support provided to Native American help seekers.

MY APPROACH

Rochelle and HHS Secretary Javier Beccera meeting 2024

My approach is different because I don’t just show up as a professional. I show up as a Native woman, a neighbor, a survivor, and a witness. I’ve lived in both tribal and urban spaces. I’ve carried trauma and joy. I’ve sat in silence with grief and danced in moments of relief. I don’t look at my work through the lens of who I am today, but through every version of me that’s ever existed. The child who needed comfort. The teen who needed direction. The young adult who needed hope. The grown woman who needed help. And I see you too. The aunties grieving their losses. Youth finding meaning together. The elders holding songs in their hearts. These lived experiences have shaped me into a woman with deep empathy, strong roots and a resilient spirit. I carry my story not as a burden, but as a testament to what’s possible when determination meets opportunity.

My values are rooted in trust, relationships, care, and culture.

I believe that when we move together with mutual respect, we all rise. I believe every person deserves culturally relevant care and someone to walk alongside them in their journey, especially those who feel like they have no voice. I’ll always stand for those who can’t stand for themselves and hold those who need a hand just a little longer.

Why Work with me

When people work with me, I want them to feel truly respected, supported, and understood. My goal is for every client and collaborator to sense that they have a trusted ally by their side—someone who not only honors their culture and values but also stands with them in pursuing their vision. I am here to listen deeply, to walk alongside you, and to ensure that in this work, you never feel alone. Together, we create a space where your voice is valued, and your goals are met with genuine care and partnership.
